There's always something comforting about a home cooked meal coming right from Joanna Gaines. I could rave about her all day. From the outside, she seems like she has it all together. Ever since I discovered her and Chip's show on HGTV, I've been obsessed with everything she does, including her recipes!
Ive had her cookbook for some time but honestly only have made her chocolate chip cookies And handful of other recipes. Another bestie of mine has been on a kick with her recipes and she’s inspired me to jump on the wagon, too!
This one is a little different, but in a good way. It has a kick to it with a hint of sweet and sour.
Anything with slaw, I'll all up for it. This slaw slightly reminds me of a recipe from our favorite family owned restaurant. The mango gives it the sweet taste with a hint of sour. Mangos are definitely not a fruit that I would pick out for my daily fruit choice, but mixed it in with some cabbage and limes an I'm satisfied.
Awhile ago I had attempted to make fish tacos and the fish turned out mushy and unpleasant. I discovered tonight that I was missing one very important step, cook it in a cast iron skillet! I honestly don't think you can ever go wrong with a cast iron. The flavor was alive and the fish was blackened and crisp! Of course we had to add some sour cream and siracha sauce, along with some jasmine rice. This one is definitely going into the thumbs up category!
I've definitely gotta try those! Not a fish fan, but you make it look pretty good!
