Here we are going into week, honestly I'm not sure what week we are on, of being quarantined. If you've seen my previous post about snack time, you know my kids don't miss out on eating. Unlike snacks time, lunch time can be a struggle, as far as it goes to finding food that they will eat and is somewhat nutritious. The two things I really try to focus on for lunch and dinner are protein and veggies. They get plenty of fruits throughout the day and will eat almost any kind. Vegetables on the other hand, I have about a selection of two things to pick from; carrots and peppers. So, for lunch I'm trying to add one of those, and then add something different, that they have to at least try, in for dinner.
Last year when I signed up to do BeachBody, I bought the containers in the picture above. They are very useful for myself, but also for the kids as well. As I've said before, I'm very visual, so when I can see that they are getting the proper amount of food groups, I feel way more satisfied with our meals. The plates below also are convenient for myself and the kids, too. If you have kiddos that don't like their food touching, they you know exactly what I'm talking about. ;) Also, there are times they don't finish all of the food so, I just leave it out on the counter for them to munch on throughout the rest of the day.
My tip for you is, don't sweat the small stuff. Keep it simple and stick to the things you know they will eat. And for my lovely mama's out there remember, to the world you are a mother, but to your family you are the world!
Here's to a successful Monday lunch!
