Creating A Space for You

Last year before Christmas I treated myself to a Explore Air 2 machine. I had my eye on one for awhile, but didn't really have a true reason to buy one. Until one day I decided I wanted to make myself a sign for my front porch, because I refused to pay $60 for one. It's amazing what we can do when we just go with our gut and give our ideas a try!

The only problem I was having, was keeping my things organized and having a home for everything. I thrive on EVERY SINGLE THING having a permanent spot! It drives my husband nuts most of the time, but it's what keeps me sane, and quite honestly it keeps this place cleaned. I know a lot of you clean 'freaks' can relate to what I'm saying. ;)

So, I had to figure out how to create a space for myself and all my craft stuff that kept accumulating. I was blown away by how many orders I had gotten after I had shared my sign and started a Facebook page. It was a bit chaotic, but a major blessing.

It took me awhile to get 'my space' in order and just the way I wanted it. I first started with buying a desk. Then I worked myself up with organizing my vinyl, paint, and all things crafting! Then I rearranged again, add some a few things, and rearranged once more, now feeling pretty good about how it's all set up.

Besides my desk area being my favorite part of this space, I am obsessed with the caddy's I found for all the little things and the coloring utensils. Having the coloring utensil out in the open was not in my original plan, but I'm so glad I went with it. A little tip I have for you, use elastic rubber bands to hold the utensils together if you want that clean look when they are on the shelf.

With all of us being home 24/7 it gives the kids free range to get what they need and sit down to color and draw. I have also realized that when things like these are pushed into a draw or cabinet we tend to forget they are there, and that leads to lots of creativity being lost.

So, I encourage you, if you haven't already, to find a space in your home that you can make yours. Even if its in your closet or a little corner in your bedroom. It doesn't have to be a crafting space, it can simply be for you to sit an read, write, or even mediate. I can't express it enough how refreshing it is to have a place of my own that I'm fully in control of. My kids know what is theres to use and the rest is left for me. And that my friends, makes me a happy mama.

Make the space in your life for possibilities to unfold. - unknown
